Christmas Celebrations!

December in Port Townsend started with a visit from Santa down by the Haller Street Fountain for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Then the Volunteers from the Jefferson County EMS Council presented their annual "Puppets Please" marionette show for the families in our area. This year's show had record numbers of guests ... so many that we're discussing a new venue to accommodate next year's crowd!

I LOVE the Christmas season! I cannot believe I didn't take ANY photos while the girls were all here! Not one? I've disgraced myself as a photographer ... we cooked, ate, crocheted, watched movies, slept in, ate, and visited the entire week through. But apparently we didn't photograph.

Visit to Shoreline

Renee' and I were able to swing by Shoreline and visit with Mom and Dad briefly. I brought my iPad along for Dad to try out. We had fun taking photos and video, and we worked with the Kindle Reader. We even downloaded a calculator ...
then a scientific calculator ....
then a scientific calculator that does graphs ...
then a scientific calculator that does 3-dimensional graphs.

Unfortunately, many of the features and controls were too small for Dad to see. We won't give up .... There's got to be something out there that will work with his eyesight that he can bring to dialysis to entertain him.

Adventures at Omas!

I love that my iPhone takes awesome photos! The girls have so much energy that it's hard to lug around the big camera and still keep up with them ... especially when it's two against one!

Kenmore Camera Digital Photo Expo 2012

Every year Kenmore Camera hosts an amazing Digital Photo Expo at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Expo 2012 This year I invited fellow photographer, Jane Shaw to attend with me ... Oh goodness! We must have circled the display booths three times and each time around something was purchased. The backpacks, the filter sets, the reflectors, the tripods, the gadgets and doohickeys galore! A phenomenal time was had and I made it out the door without dipping into the mortgage payment!

Although, I'm still considering ...

Autumn Leaves

How lucky am I to have such a gorgeous photographic family that is so willing to pose?!!! We were headed to a park nearby when we passed by the perfect leafy spot at the school grounds.

Oh what fun it is to build a pile of leaves, jump in them ... and throw them all over Mom!!

Sprinting for the Sprinter

Once upon a time, Steve decided he needed a Sprinter Van. After much research, he found the perfect one ... in Texas! So off he went on a marathon adventure of flights, and sleepless nights, and traveling half-way across the country to bring his new mistress home. And this was just the beginning ...

Old Mill Days

I met up with the Swanson-Duron gang in Port Gamble for the Old Mill Days (Old Mill Days) So much fun watching the loggers chop, saw, climb, cut, and balance on logs of all sizes. The ice-cream stand was a particularly favorite "event" as well. Afterwards, the gang agreed to pose for a few commercial stock photos. That was nearly as much fun as the fair!  Looking forward to next year!

Photo Playdate with Jane

Jane is particularly lucky for me ... every time she and I go on a Photo Playdate I seem to find some particularly profitable stock images along the way.

LittleBit Visit!

What a fun time it is to be able to re-explore the world through their eyes while everything is still new and exciting! Remember running across the field just because? Or curiously watching a bug hop from leaf to leaf, being amazed by an airplane taking off, spinning around in circles until the world tips over ...

Having grandchildren around is a great reminder to stop and smell the Pacific Water Parsley!

Perseid Meteor Shower

I was so excited to set up for a night photo session on Lands End bluff that I started too soon and burned myself out before the actual event happened. According to the media (ABC News) we're right in the middle of the Perseid Meteor Shower! I was able to capture some wonderful night star images, but never lasted long enough to actually capture the meteor showers.

It was just me, the owls and the coyotes overlooking the Salish Sea ...

Wow.

Point Defiance Zoo

Even on a sweltering hot day (probably the hottest all season) we were able to find some fun things to do with Renee' and the LittleBits at the Point Defiance Zoo.

I think their favorite part of the zoo was riding in the blue stroller while Capo gently rammed into the sidewalk barriers and landscape rocks creating an impromptu amusement ride!  Many of the animals were hiding in the shade requiring "special binoculars" to view them.

Such a gift to be able to see the world through their eyes ...
